Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Sales Manager to join our retail team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including merchandising, pricing, and inventory management.
- Support sales management initiatives by developing strategies to increase store revenue and market presence.
- Supervise and motivate sales staff, providing training and development to enhance team performance.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Manage payroll, cash handling, cashiering, and POS transactions with accuracy and integrity.
- Participate in recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and assisting in onboarding new employees.
- Coordinate marketing activities and promotional campaigns to attract customers and boost sales.
- Oversee store merchandising standards, ensuring attractive displays that align with branding guidelines.
- Assist with purchasing decisions, budgeting, and inventory control to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Maintain organizational records including bookkeeping, administrative documentation, and sales reports.
- Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and excellent communication skills across all store functions.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales management with supervising or team management responsibilities.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence customer decisions and vendor relationships.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred for serving diverse clientele.
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling procedures, merchandising software, and basic bookkeeping tools.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership qualities with experience in training & development of staff members.
- Sound organizational skills for managing inventories, scheduling staff shifts, and maintaining records.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to retail environments along with budgeting expertise.
- Administrative experience including payroll processing, purchasing, pricing strategies, and store management functions.
