Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and excellent driving skills. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks, tractor-trailers.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as palletjet when necessary
- Drive route-specific deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to deliveries and vehicle logs
- Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including truck driving.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely and efficiently
- Strong knowledge of route driving and delivery procedures
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus for loading/unloading tasks
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance
- Good navigation skills and familiarity with GPS systems for route planning
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy loads when necessary
- Strong communication skills for coordinating deliveries and reporting issues
