Job Overview
Compassion Homecare Services is seeking dedicated and compassionate Health Care Aides (HCAs) to join our team on a casual basis to provide staffing support in various facility settings throughout Calgary and surrounding areas.
This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work in supportive care environments while making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and mobility assistance.
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration as required.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with facility staff and healthcare professionals.
- Promote resident dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life.
- Follow facility policies, infection prevention protocols, and workplace health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable transportation is considered an asset.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working in long-term care, supportive living, assisted living, or other facility settings is a strong asset.
- Experience providing care to seniors and individuals with complex care needs is preferred.
