Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Shop Helper to join our manufacturing and fabrication team. This role is essential in supporting daily operations within our shop environment, assisting with assembly, equipment maintenance, and material handling. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely with various tools and machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing and warehouse operations while contributing to the production of high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Assist with assembly of components using hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment
- Support the movement and organization of materials within the warehouse or shop floor
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (training provided)
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, machinery, and work areas
- Assist with loading and unloading materials or finished products
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
- Support team members in completing production tasks efficiently and accurately
Requirements
- Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with assembly processes is a plus
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and forklifts (training available)
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) regularly and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes is advantageous
