Join us at our family owned and operated Placer Gold Mine outside of Dawson City, Yukon until October of 2026 as a Concrete Finisher with part time entry level heavy equipment operation. This is a combination seasonal position hiring multiple candidates. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be working on a variety of structures including shop floors, driveways and work pads. When concrete finishing projects are complete, the selected candidate will get to complete the mining season as a heavy equipment operator on articulated rock trucks with room for growth in other machinery.
The main duties include:
- Smoothing and leveling freshly poured concrete to achieve the desired finish and durability.
- Applying surface treatments, membranes, or waterproofing products to protect concrete.
- Installing expansion joints, edging surfaces, and fixtures such as anchor bolts or steel plates.
- Repairing, resurfacing, or replacing worn or damaged concrete sections.
Concrete finishers may also work with various tradespeople across the mine site to assist in completion of miscellaneous projects.
Responsibilities:
Setting up and aligning forms
Mixing, pouring and spreading concrete
Leveling and smoothing surfaces
Applying finishing techniques
Clean up and organize worksites
Qualifications:
-Class 5 License
- Eagerness to learn new skills
- Prior experience in trades is required
This is a camp position with a 12 day on, 2 days off shift. We offer relocation assistance to get to the Yukon however this is NOT fly in fly out work, nor is end of season travel covered. Camp accommodations include a private room, shared wash facilities and a dining hall providing 3 meals a day.
Wages are up for negotiation depending on skill level.
Overtime after 8 hours a day.
11hrs/day, 77hrs/week.
