Job Summary:
The Intermediate Component Designer is responsible for providing accurate designs of truss, wall and/or floor systems for quotation and production purposes using their knowledge of engineering and load path development. This requires using the provided MITEK, specialized CAD software programs, to accomplish these tasks. The job also requires self-motivation, customer-focus, and strong goal-orientation to establish and maintain positive relationships with Architects, Designers, Framers, Builders, and Co-workers while providing strong customer service with on-site and in-office consultations and ensuring the best possible design with accurate installation. Our Truss Designers have the willingness to learn and contribute in a meaningful way.
Job Information:
- Monday to Friday (7:00 am to 4:00 pm).

Essential Functions:
- Provide accurate design of truss / floor systems for quotation and production purposes using MITEK, specialized CAD software programs.
- Read, interpret architectural / structural drawings, and understand the current construction theory, building practices, and local building codes.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with Architects, Designers, Framers, and Builders.
- Provide strong customer service with on-site and in-office consultations to ensure best possible design with accurate installation.
- Generate quotes quickly, efficiently, and accurately for customers.
- Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers while demonstrating skills working in a team-oriented environment.
Job Requirements:
- College diploma in Architectural/Civil Technology/Structural Engineering.
- Excellent computer (PC) skills - AutoCAD and MS Office
- At least three to seven years of experience in EWP, wall panel and/or Roof Truss design.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
- Experience or knowledge with related products and services in the construction, framing, or carpentry industries specifically is an asset.
