Job Scope:
The Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator will oversee the procurement of materials, manage inventory levels, and coordinate supply chain activities to support efficient and cost-effective operations. This role ensures accurate stock control, timely purchasing, and vendor management to meet production and operational needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet operational demand while minimizing excess stock
- Oversee inventory tracking systems and conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Prepare and analyze inventory reports to support strategic planning
- Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, supplies, and services in alignment with company policies, budget goals and procurement team for final approval and guidance
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records
- Collaborate with departments such as Production, Finance, and Logistics to forecast material needs and align purchasing plans
- Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, quality standards, and safety protocols
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve accuracy
- Assist with audits and reporting related to inventory and procurement
- Other related duties, as required
Job Requirements:
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, purchasing, or supply chain operations
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and purchasing processes
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage priorities and solve problems independently
- Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada RAIC (Restricted Area Identity Card) to work in an airport secure zone
- Proficiency with inventory management software
- Knowledge of airport safety procedures and logistical constraints is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual in French and English
Working Conditions:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22 kgs)
- Must be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays if needed
- Must be available for flexible shifts: early mornings, daytime, or evenings
- Office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions
- Monday-Friday
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
