Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Shop Foreman and Automotive Mechanic to lead our service team and perform high-quality vehicle repairs. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive automotive knowledge, and hands-on mechanical expertise. The ideal candidate will oversee daily shop operations, ensure efficient workflow, and deliver exceptional customer service. A background in dealership settings, welding, and maintenance is highly desirable to support our commitment to excellence in automotive repair.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the automotive service team, ensuring timely completion of repairs.
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including engine, transmission, brake systems, and electrical components.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and schematics to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts accurately.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed for custom repairs or modifications.
- Assist with vehicle inspections, maintenance procedures, and preventative care to uphold safety standards.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organized work environment and adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and professionally to clients.
- Oversee inventory management of parts and tools required for daily operations.
- Train and mentor junior technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge base.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive automotive repair background with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, schematics, and assembly techniques necessary for complex repairs.
- Welding skills for fabrication or repair purposes are highly preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts handling.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing a team of technicians or mechanics.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques for diverse vehicle issues.
