Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other machinery essential for construction projects. This role involves performing excavation tasks with precision and safety, contributing to the successful completion of various infrastructure and building projects. Candidates with strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with Caterpillar equipment will excel in this position.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and horizontal drilling equipment to perform excavation, grading, and site preparation.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are maintained.
- Assist with site development activities such as paving, grading, and trenching as needed.
- Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations efficiently on construction sites.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety measures are followed during operation.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators and heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred or required depending on project needs.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery is highly desirable.
- Experience with horizontal drilling and other specialized construction techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various weather conditions.
