Mac's Traders Inc. is a family owned and operated Scrap Metal Recycling facility located in Langley.
We are seeking to hire an experienced Roll Off Bin Truck Driver to join our team. We also conduct some flatdeck Roll off services.
This position is full time Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm. Guaranteed 40 hours per week in peak spring/summer/fall months. Chance of reduced hours slower winter months (dependent on bookings**). Can be discussed further during interview process. No driving required on weekends, evenings, or Statutory Holidays.
Our starting wage is $32-$35 per hour WITH Extended Health & Dental Benefits included after a 3 month probationary period.
Our Trucks:
- **Manual/standard transmission only**
- Cable lift, not hook lift
General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform and record daily pre-trip and safety checks
- Check gas, oil and other fluid levels, replenishing when needed
- Accurately track and document daily dispatch activities
- Maintain routine communication with dispatch
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct as a representative of our company
- Ensure all loads are secured and hauled in a safe manner
- Ensure road safe conduct
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently residing in the lower mainland
- Class 3 Driver's License with Air *manual* (Class 1 is a bonus)
- Clean drivers abstract
- Manual/standard transmission experience
- Roll-off truck experience (2 years required)
- Physically fit and capable of lifting 50+ lbs
- Able to fluently read, write and speak in the English language
- Good interpersonal skills to communicate with customers, co-workers and dispatch
- Willingness to learn industry specific practices
- Ability to follow and adhere to our company's policies and procedures
- Good knowledge of the lower mainland area
- Demonstrates the ability to maneuver truck in tight spaces
- Adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures
- Accurately documenting daily activities
