About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Integration Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise integration solutions. This role will be responsible for managing the Gravitee API Gateway, Workato orchestration platform, and intake pipelines while defining API standards and integration patterns across multiple engineering workstreams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in API management, enterprise integrations, security, tokenization, and event-driven architectures. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant data exchange across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage Gravitee API Gateway configurations, policies, plans, and rate-limiting strategies.
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations using Workato recipes and orchestration patterns.
- Establish and govern API contract standards using REST and AsyncAPI specifications.
- Define and enforce enterprise integration best practices across multiple teams and workstreams.
- Implement NPI/PII tokenization strategies to ensure lower environments never receive sensitive production data.
- Configure and maintain secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth2 and OpenID Connect.
- Design and implement event-driven integration architectures.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, architecture, and business teams to ensure reliable and scalable integrations.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize system performance.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security and data governance standards.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise integration, API management, middleware, or software engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Gravitee API Gateway, including policies, plans, and rate-limiting configurations.
- Strong experience with Workato, including recipe development and orchestration design.
- Deep understanding of REST APIs, AsyncAPI, and API contract governance.
- Experience implementing OAuth2 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication frameworks.
- Experience with data tokenization solutions such as TokenEx, Protegrity, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven integration patterns and architectures.
- Experience working with cloud-native and distributed systems.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in regulated industries such as Insurance, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Banking.
- Knowledge of API lifecycle management and governance frameworks.
- Experience integrating SaaS, cloud, and enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with messaging platforms and event streaming technologies.
Pay: $100,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
