We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant Diploma Program Instructor to deliver our Ministry-approved Administrative Assistant Diploma Program. The successful candidate will be passionate about adult education, committed to student success, and experienced in administrative office practices.
Position Summary
AlphaLogic College is seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and student-focused Instructor to teach the Administrative Assistant Diploma Program. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction using the college’s approved curriculum, lesson plans, course materials, and evaluation tools. This role requires a commitment to student success, professional conduct, and hands-on learning that prepares graduates for employment in administrative and office support roles.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to engage adult learners in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction in accordance with the approved curriculum, instructor manuals, lesson plans, and evaluation guidelines.
- Demonstrate thorough and current knowledge of administrative office procedures, business communication, customer service, records management, and office technology.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods including lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussions, case studies, practical exercises, and group activities.
- Employ effective adult learning principles and strategies to engage diverse learners.
- Facilitate hands-on training that prepares students for real-world administrative and office support positions.
- Administer, mark, and evaluate assignments, quizzes, examinations, and other assessments in a fair and timely manner.
- Monitor student attendance, participation, academic progress, and overall performance.
- Provide constructive feedback and academic support to promote student success.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance documentation, and grading records.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and professional learning environment.
- Address student concerns and complaints professionally and in accordance with college policies.
- Support student retention and encourage positive classroom engagement.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with all privacy requirements.
- Remain current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices through ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and effective problem-solving.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Instructor Qualification Standards outlined in the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 and satisfy one of the following requirements:
- Have a minimum of 48 months of work experience in the administrative assistant, office administration, or related vocation; OR
- Have a minimum of 36 months of teaching experience in the vocation and 24 months of work experience in the vocation; OR
- Have a minimum of 24 months of work experience in the vocation and one of the following credentials:
- A Bachelor's degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent credential; or
- Graduation from a College of Applied Arts and Technology or an equivalent credential; or
- Graduation from a registered Ontario Career College (OCC) or an equivalent credential.
In addition, candidates must:
- Meet all Instructor Qualification Standards as outlined in the Regulations under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Pay Details
· Base Hourly Rate- CAD $24-26/hr
· Mon to Fri - 8:00am to 4:00pm EST
