Dawson Co-op invites applications for the position of File Maintenance Specialist to join our team at our Home Centre located in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
Reporting to the File Maintenance Supervisor, the File Maintenance Specialist is responsible for supporting pricing accuracy, merchandising execution, and administrative functions within the Home Centre. This role assists across multiple departments including Agro, Lumber, Hardware, and Inventory, ensuring pricing, signage, and promotional materials are accurate and up to date.
Responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Come to work with a positive and professional approach and attitude.
- Be dependable for all scheduled shifts.
- Print and post weekly price changes for all Home and Agro departments
- Prepare and place weekly sale tickets
- Update price changes in POS
- Identify and create missing price tickets for items on the sales floor
- Design and place store signage (front end, back end, and lobby areas)
- Complete Saturday cash office duties
- Audit shelves and displays to ensure compliance with current pricing and promotions
- Process all accounts payable tasks, specific to each assigned specialized department
- Process and transfer all appropriate paperwork from Home Centre to Administrative Office
- Print, track and maintain invoices from JDE
- Match specialized/department invoices to corresponding invoices in JDE
- Collaborate with specific department sales teams to ensure correct ordering and tracking procedures for all products
- Communicate with respective department manager and staff to ensure proper authorization of purchase orders
- Maintain awareness of store operations and collaborate with auditors regarding specialized department files
- Perform all other Mi-9 file maintenance functions as directed by the File Maintenance Supervisor
- Process all FCL truck paperwork as required
- Communicate with FCL about all item number and UPC corrections required
- Assist and support other team members with any questions or concerns
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union policies and procedures
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union health and safety standards, per the Health and Safety manual
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Demonstrated data entry skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with pricing systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, or inventory processes is an asset
- Ability to lift and move materials (e.g., signage, price tags) and work on the sales floor as needed
- Positive and results oriented attitude; to prospect, communicate and identify opportunities for success
- Motivated self-starter and ability to work independently and within a team
- Emerging ability to manage relationships at all levels
Compensation & Benefits:
