Service Owner (Vendor Relationship Manager)
We are seeking a Service Owner to support a government service delivery and vendor management initiative. This role is focused on owning the full lifecycle of service delivery, ensuring alignment with policy, security, and user needs while driving continuous improvement across contracted services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing contracts and vendor relationships, leading procurement processes, overseeing compliance activities, and contributing directly to planning, documentation, and delivery tasks in a hands-on capacity.
The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in contract lifecycle management, vendor performance oversight, and invoice validation using ERP systems. They will support end-to-end RFP processes, manage Statements of Work, and apply performance data and user feedback to inform operational decisions. The role requires the ability to balance execution with accountability, working closely with program areas, agile delivery teams, and multiple vendors to ensure deliverables meet requirements, timelines, and service levels. PCI compliance oversight, reporting, and remediation coordination are also key functions of this position.This is a hybrid role, in Edmonton, Alberta
Qualifications
7 years - Experience managing the full lifecycle of contracts and Statements of Work (SOWs), including amendments, renewals, extensions, and expirations.
7 years - Experience managing vendor relationships, contract requirements, deliverables, and performance tracking.
4 years - Experience reviewing and validating vendor invoices against contract terms and processing payments using SAP or similar ERP systems (e.g., 1GX, Oracle, etc.).
7 years - Experience using performance data or user feedback to drive service improvements and operational decision-making.
Nice to Have
10 years - Experience in the Government of Alberta environment or an environment of equivalent size and complexity.
7 years - Experience leading end-to-end RFP processes, including requirements gathering, evaluation of submissions, contract award, and vendor onboarding/transition.
7 years - Experience owning end-to-end service delivery in Agile, including prioritization, risk management, and continuous improvement.
1 year - Experience supporting or leading PCI compliance activities, including compliance reporting, audit coordination, and remediation tracking.
7 years - Experience working with business areas and vendors to define audit requirements and implement remediation actions for compliance gaps.
Pay: $44,664.14-$135,165.52 per year
