Victoria Station Dental (Red Deer, Alberta) is looking for a reliable, honest, and hard working dental administrator (part-time position: Mon 8-4PM and Tue 12-8PM) to join our wonderful team!
We are locally owned and operated by Dr. Jenny Doerksen. We are focused on family dentistry with a strong hygiene program. This position includes one day shift and one evening shift. No weekends.
Our office is small but well-established and moderately busy with friendly staff members. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has some dental experience and/or looking to switch into dental career as we can provide training for the right candidate. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organization skills, self-directed behaviours, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient services. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage front desk operations with professionalism and courtesy
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently
- Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, confirm appointments, and provide information
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental records system
- Verify insurance information and process billing and payments
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring a positive patient experience
- Manage correspondence, including emails and other communication channels
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and office operations
Preferences:
- Previous dental office experience or medical office experience is highly preferred, but not necessary.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Experience as a dental receptionist or in a front desk administrative role in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in office systems including multi-line phone systems, electronic medical records, and general office equipment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment is advantageous
