Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a dynamic corporate environment. The ideal candidate will support various financial functions, including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial analysis, utilizing a range of accounting software tools. Duties
- Assist with Tax Preparation including T1, T2 and GST/HST Returns
- Support bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and PeopleSoft
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Help prepare financial reports, including account analysis and budgeting documentation
- Aid in auditing processes by gathering relevant financial information and maintaining organized records
- Support payroll processing and related activities to ensure compliance with company policies
- Conduct regular account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities
- Collaborate with senior accountants on special projects related to corporate finance and financial services
Requirements
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Preferred Experience in Canadaian Tax or Accounting Firm ( 1-2 years)
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Canadian Taxation rules & regulations
- Familiarity with Financial documents including income and expenses statements, Balance sheets and payroll functions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze financial data accurately and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Prior internship or experience in accounting or finance is a plus but not required
