Paint Truck Operator (DZ License Required)

Schedule: Night Shifts (Sunday to Friday, seasonal overtime as required)

We are seeking experienced, safety-focused, and dependable Paint Truck Operators who take pride in their work and are committed to being part of a professional team.
Position Summary
The Paint Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a road marking paint truck while performing pavement marking operations on municipal roads and highways. This position requires an experienced DZ driver with strong knowledge of commercial vehicles, air brake systems, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
This is a hands-on role requiring night work, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a DZ paint truck during pavement marking operations.
- Operate paint truck equipment and monitor paint application to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections (circle checks) and report any defects immediately.
- Perform daily Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) before commencing work.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including:
- Daily driving logs
- Paint reports
- Vehicle inspection reports
- Equipment maintenance records
- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs of equipment as required.
- Follow all company policies, Ministry of Transportation regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Report all incidents, hazards, equipment issues, and near misses promptly.
- Work effectively with crew members to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
- Represent the company professionally while working on public roads and customer sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario DZ Driver's Licence (required).
- Minimum 5 years of commercial DZ driving experience.
- Clean driving abstract.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Air brake systems (Z endorsement)
- Airless paint systems and paint truck operations (preferred)
- Commercial vehicle inspections and maintenance
- Previous experience operating pavement marking equipment is considered a strong asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are an asset.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
