Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for an experienced electrician looking to apply their expertise on commercial and industrial construction projects. The Journeyman Electrician will provide leadership on site, oversee installations, mentor apprentices, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan and execute projects effectively.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and perform necessary repairs to ensure systems are operational and efficient.
- Supervise apprentices and provide on-the-job training to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Adhere to local and national electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
Skills
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certificate.
- Experience working on commercial electrical construction projects is required.
- Industrial electrical and controls experience is considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience troubleshooting commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
