Saturn has an opportunity for a full time Treasury Accountant based in the Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Supervisor, Treasury, the Treasury Analyst will be responsible for supporting various treasury functions, including but not limited to cash management, risk assessment, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Treasury Analyst include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in daily cash management activities, including monitoring bank account balances, preparing cash forecasts, executing fund transfers and payment.
- Support in analyzing and managing the company’s liquidity position.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to Treasury activities.
- Prepare monthly journal entries for Treasury activities.
- Assist with vendor maintenance and banking information updates.
- Assist in managing relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Participate in treasury-related projects, such as system implementations or process improvements.
- Participate in the testing and monitoring of internal controls to ensure that risks are appropriately managed and mitigated.
- Support the Supervisor, Treasury in various ad-hoc tasks and projects.
Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of related experience.
- CPA or working towards CPA, considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Be a self-starter, team player with a curiosity to learn.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Experience with the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in the Oil and Gas sector would be an asset.
- Exposure to Qbyte would be an asset.
