Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Cat & Dog Groomer to join our veterinary and pet care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to pets, ensuring they look and feel their best while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of breeds and sizes, delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners. A love for animals, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping for cats and dogs according to breed standards and client preferences
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets throughout the grooming process
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work area
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, special instructions, and aftercare recommendations
- Handle pets gently and confidently, demonstrating patience and compassion during grooming procedures
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing client records
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client questions and concerns professionally
Requirements
- Prior experience in pet grooming required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their pets
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large or heavy pets)
- Compassionate attitude towards animals with a focus on their well-being
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends if needed
