Position Overview
We are seeking a Mold Surfacer to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for designing and developing production-ready molds that meet customer requirements, internal standards, and manufacturing best practices.
You’ll play a key role across the full program lifecycle—from concept and feasibility through build, sampling, and production launch—delivering robust designs, accurate CAD models, and complete engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create mold layout and steel concepts for internal and global Redoe Teams
- Mold layouts concepts will include core/cavity, gating, ejection, and mechanisms
- Create and supply DFM/feasibility reports to clearly identify part design concerns to customers and OEM’s
- Responsible for DFM report presentations and technical support during customer meetings
- Incorporate MoldFlow results into mold layouts and DFM reports
- Support engineering changes, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate and organized engineering documentation
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool & Die, or related field
- 7+ years of mold/tooling surfacing experience (injection molding preferred)
- Experience with advanced part feasibility/design for manufacturing
- Proficiency in CAD (NX w/Mold Wizard preferred)
- Automotive tooling experience is required (Lighting/Interior/Exterior/Under-hood)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience working with customers and OEM’s resolving part design concerns
- Strong understanding of mold construction and manufacturing processes
- Strong problem-solving and multi-project management skills
- Team-oriented with a focus on collaboration
Working Environment:
- Mainly office-based within a manufacturing facility
- Occasional visits to the shop floor for validation and project support
- Fast-paced, detail-oriented environment requiring proactive problem-solving and strong communication
