Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef/Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, delivering high-quality dishes, and maintaining excellent food safety standards. As a key member of our restaurant management team, you will support the head chef in supervising kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Assist in supervising daily kitchen operations and manage kitchen staff during shifts
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Ensure all dishes meet quality standards before serving
- Support food service operations by coordinating with serving staff to deliver timely service
- Lead by example in practicing proper food safety and sanitation protocols
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
- Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and restaurant policies
Experience
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or Sous Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities in managing kitchen staff
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety standards
- Extensive restaurant management knowledge including team management and restaurant operations
- Familiarity with the food industry trends, hospitality standards, and customer service excellence
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high-quality food production
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen environments
- Previous experience working with diverse cuisines is a plus
