Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 5 Ton Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a 5-ton truck to transport goods, materials, and equipment to various locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a focus on customer service. The driver will also assist with warehouse activities such as moving and loading items, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining safety standards throughout all operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 5-ton truck for local and regional deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual handling techniques
- Assist with moving goods within warehouses or storage facilities as needed
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely, professional, and courteous interactions during deliveries
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks, specifically 5-ton vehicles or similar size trucks
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including moving, forklift operation, and inventory handling is preferred
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, including loading/unloading cargo
- Prior experience in customer service roles is advantageous
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience with warehouse environments or logistics is a plus
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
