Job Description
Insight Global is looking for Carpenters to join one of Canada's leading employee-owned general construction contractors. These individuals will support a variety of commercial and institutional construction projects throughout British Columbia, with immediate opportunities in Red Deer, AB.
Reporting directly to the Superintendent, Carpenters will be responsible for performing hands-on construction activities, supporting project execution, and helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Projects may include courthouse closeout work, supportive housing developments, fire hall construction, and other commercial building initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a reliable, team-oriented tradesperson who takes pride in their work and is willing to travel where project needs exist. Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of carpentry experience within commercial, institutional, residential, or industrial construction environments
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Alberta as project needs require
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Successfully pass a pre-employment physical screening
- SiteReadyBC certification (for British Columbia candidates) or CSTS 2020 certification (for Alberta candidates)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Journeyperson Carpenter Certification or Registered Apprentice status
- Experience working on commercial or institutional construction projects
- Experience with courthouse, supportive housing, municipal, healthcare, educational, or public infrastructure projects
- Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform, or other construction safety certifications
- Experience working for a General Contractor
- Previous leadership experience as a Lead Hand, Foreman, or Crew Lead
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing project requirements
- Experience working across multiple project sites or supporting travelling construction teams
Pay: $85,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
