Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers/PSW to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care settings, such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities, and possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role requires a blend of physical stamina, empathy, and effective communication skills to ensure the safety and well-being of those under your care.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Assist with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure safe transfers between locations.
- Support clients with dementia care by providing a calm environment and employing effective communication techniques.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client status to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
Skills
- Previous experience in caregiving.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient care best practices.
- Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary requirements while ensuring nutritional value.
- Compassionate approach towards senior care with a focus on enhancing client comfort and dignity.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely when assisting clients.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and the ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
