Nurse Practitioner – Family Practice
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join a busy and growing family medicine practice serving the Barrie/Innisfil area.
This is a part-time, in-person position initially offering approximately 9–18 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and the potential for increased hours as the practice expands.
The NP will work closely with a family physician and our clinical team in providing comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions within NP scope of practice
- Conduct patient histories and physical examinations
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic investigations
- Prescribe and manage medications within scope of practice
- Provide chronic disease management and follow-up care
- Conduct periodic health assessments and preventive care
- Provide women's health, men's health, pediatric and older-adult primary care as appropriate
- Review investigations and arrange appropriate follow-up
- Provide patient education and health promotion
- Refer to physicians and specialists when appropriate
- Maintain clear and timely documentation in the EMR, such as OSCAR PRO.
- Work collaboratively with the physician and other members of the clinic team
Qualifications
- Current registration in good standing as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Authorized to practise as an NP in Ontario
- Primary healthcare/family practice experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a community family practice
