- Conduct thorough legal research using tools like LexisNexis to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents.
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence with clear attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proofread all legal materials meticulously to ensure correctness and consistency before submission or filing.
- Manage and organize case files using iManage or similar document management systems for easy retrieval and secure storage.
- Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines, scheduling interviews with witnesses or clients, and coordinating meetings.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records of case information, court filings, and client details.
- File documents with courts or government agencies electronically or physically while adhering to procedural requirements.
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when communicating with clients, vendors, or internal teams to foster positive relationships.
- Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as needed to gather relevant information for ongoing cases.
- Support administrative functions such as managing calendars, preparing reports, and handling clerical tasks efficiently.
Experience
- Proven administrative experience in a legal setting or related field demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with project management or coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and concise legal documents and correspondence.
- Strong proofreading abilities ensuring accuracy in all legal materials.
- Knowledge of iManage or similar document management systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle data entry with precision while maintaining confidentiality.
- Effective interviewing skills to gather comprehensive information from clients or witnesses.
- Professional phone etiquette combined with clerical experience supporting busy office environments.
