Elementary School Teacher (Primary Grades)
Description: Alternative education, independent school looking for a new homeroom teacher to join our team. Our unique school offers a blend of teaching philosophies (Reggio-Emilia, Waldorf, Montessori and Forest School), while based upon the Ontario Curriculum in the core subjects.
We consider ourselves a holistic, community-based learning environment, with a focus on individualized learning. We also aim to weave in life skills, mindfulness practices and an abundance of nature into our curriculum.

Teacher Responsibilities:
- To develop and follow an annual academic plan
- To utilize an inquiry-based and hands-on approach to teaching
- To administer observation-based student assessments, without the use of standardized testing, and complete Progress and Report Cards
- To maintain open and professional communication with parents
- To be an active team member who contributes to the creation of a holistic learning environment for all students
- To be available for school community events and fundraisers that are occasionally scheduled for evenings and weekends
- To adapt and respond to the individual needs of each child in your class
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- OCT and/or Bachelor's of Education
- A Police Vulnerable Sector Check from the police jurisdiction where you reside
- Excellent communications, classroom management and teamwork skills
