Synergy Kids is located at Dorval and the QEW in Oakville. Synergy Kids offers ABA, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and respite services to kids and teens. Most of our clients have a diagnosis of autism. Synergy Kids is a fast-paced team; management and front line staff work together for the betterment of our clients. Synergy Kids is 5000 square feet and includes a kitchen, gym, sensory room, classroom and 7 therapy rooms.
Synergy Kids is seeking a Supervised ABA Therapist to join our exciting team. Shifts will be Monday-Friday 8:30-5pm, 30 hours per week.
Duties:
- Implement Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) individually or in small groups under the supervision of a Registered Behavior Analyst.
- This can include but not limited to session preparation and material creation
- Implement ABA programs as designed
- Collect data and record observations in Jane.app
- Communicate client progress verbally and written to team members/parents
- Attend Team Meetings (in-person) to discuss client progress
- Ensure clients are supervised and well supported in their personal hygiene
- Ensure clients receive individualized ABA interventions based on their preferences and skills
- Implement small group activities that teach skills related to peer-to-peer communication. tolerance and cooperation
- Behavioural Therapists must use applications and websites such as Jane.app to manage their client's schedules and clinical notes, Motivity to document client progress and Canva to create materials to be used during therapy sessions
Skills:
- Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Ability to implement behavior intervention plans effectively
- Excellent observation and data collection skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and compassion when working with children with ASD
- Ability to adapt and modify strategies based on individual client needs
