Bistro Barista and Food Server - Minoru Seniors Society
The Minoru Seniors Society is a registered non-profit society that has been active in the Richmond Community since 1986. The Society’s mandate is to enhance the quality of life for Richmond seniors through the provision of ongoing recreation opportunities and services.
The Society operates a full-service cafeteria with special pricing for Seniors Facility Pass holders and a Bistro for gourmet on-the-go meals located in the north lobby at The Minoru Centre for Active Living. This is a great opportunity to join our team and to serve our community.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Cafeteria Supervisor or designated supervisor, prepares, sells and serves food/drink and performs cleaning in a cafeteria/bistro setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service/Communication/Operations
Greet customers in recreational facility
Prepare and serve sandwiches, desserts, salads and other food items according to production requirements in a cafeteria/bistro setting.
Prepare and serve drinks from a hot/cold beverage dispenser
Take orders from customers
Point of sale and cash handling
Prepare food for grab and go meals
Restock supplies
Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to Cafeteria Supervisor or designate
Clean and sanitize countertops, tables and chairs, machines and equipment. Set up cafeteria/bistro tables, bussing and tray stations
Administrative
Perform clerical duties such as answering the telephone and recording information on designated forms
Update menu and price information
Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Up to six month’s experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Food Safe certification
Police Information Check
Hours: Varied hours - part time
Salary: $17.85 per hour
