Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and familiarity with dental office operations. Experience with electronic medical records and dental software such as Abeldent is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and check them in upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and confirm patient visits
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix and Epic
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing procedures
- Collect payments and process transactions efficiently at the front desk
- Prepare and update patient files, ensuring all documentation is complete and current
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize office workflow
- Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff to ensure patient needs are met promptly
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a professional environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical/medical office setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency with dental software such as Abeldent is preferred; familiarity with electronic medical records systems is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practice
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Office experience including front desk duties, administrative support, or customer service roles
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and billing procedures is advantageous
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor to foster positive patient interactions
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
