Overview
We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and tech-savvy Program Coordinator to join our team at a leading Private Career College in Ontario. In this role, you will work closely with adult learners aged 30 to 55, many of whom are returning to school after years away and may have little to no computer experience.
Your role will be essential in supporting students throughout their diploma programs, including Business, Accounting, IT, and Web Design. From onboarding to graduation, you will provide guidance, monitor attendance and progress, and offer ongoing support through virtual channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard new students into diploma programs, providing patient and supportive instruction on how to access and use digital learning tools.
- Work one-on-one with adult learners to support them as they navigate online learning, especially those with limited computer skills.
- Monitor daily student attendance and academic progress, ensuring they are meeting program expectations and timelines.
- Respond promptly to student inquiries via email, phone, or virtual meetings, offering helpful guidance and encouragement.
- Coordinate and maintain accurate records of student activity, including attendance logs and academic progress reports.
- Work closely with the academic and administrative team to identify students who may be struggling and ensure appropriate support is provided.
- Regularly report student status updates to the team lead and flag any issues affecting progress or engagement.
- Help maintain a positive, respectful, and student-centered learning environment — both online and through communication.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) is required.
- Prior experience in a Private Career College or adult education setting is a strong asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to track and manage multiple students’ progress effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially when working with students who may need extra support or encouragement.
- Comfortable with virtual platforms and online learning environments.
- Patient, empathetic, and genuinely interested in helping adults succeed in their academic journey.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team.
