Be the face of safety on the road. As a Flag Person, you’ll be at the heart of fast‑moving projects, keeping crews and communities safe while work gets done. If you’re calm under pressure, confident giving clear directions, and enjoy working outdoors, this is a role with real purpose and pride.
What you’ll do
- Keep people safe: Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic through active work zones, maintaining a safe buffer for crews and the public.
- Guide the action: Direct site equipment and lorries near live traffic, ensuring safe, smooth movements.
- Set the stage: Help install, inspect, and maintain signage and barricades; complete daily barricade reports.
- Support the numbers: Measure work areas for quantity calculations and track hired equipment hours; issue pay tickets/receipts.
- Own the paperwork: Receive, sort, and file haul tickets from delivery trucks.
- Be the calm voice: Communicate with drivers, pedestrians, and team members in a courteous, professional manner—especially when things get busy.
What you’ll bring
- Experience: At least 2 years as a Flag Person (or closely related traffic control role).
- Certification: Current, industry‑recognised Flag Training certificate.
- Presence: You can take charge and give firm, clear directions that people follow.
- Stamina: Comfortable standing and walking for long periods, and holding equipment such as a stop/slow paddle and two‑way radio.
- Resilience: Happy working outdoors in all weather and temperatures.
- Reliability: Able to work extended hours, irregular days, and irregular breaks; willing to work overtime as required.
- Safety first: Meet all safety requirements and follow applicable safety policies without compromise.
Why this role matters
- Immediate impact: Your decisions protect lives and keep projects moving.
- Team pride: Join a crew that values professionalism, safety, and looking out for one another.
- Variety every day: Different sites, different challenges, and a front‑row seat to projects that shape your community.
If you’ve got the training, the composure, and the drive to keep people safe, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and help us keep the wheels turning—safely.
