Based out of Edmonton, the Construction Foreman will be responsible for leading a small team in repairs, renovations and improvements to our multi-unit residential buildings and sites. This work will include building and/or improving a variety of components on fully-occupied apartment and townhome sites.
Skills and Credentials: Minimum 4 years’ experience in residential or commercial construction. Supervisory or team lead experience. Journeyperson Carpentry certification desire. Knowledgeable in reading and understanding construction plans Strong communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions. Willing and able to travel. The focus of this job is act as the primary support for superintendent and foreman.
Job Responsibilities:
Organizes, directs and supervise employees engaged in specific functions on construction projects. Work to complete his portion of the project on time and on budget. Knowledge of the full range of materials, methods and tools involved in construction projects. Supervises the construction of a portion of a project under the direction of a Superintendent or Project Manager.
Assigns work to labor and other trades. Takes an active role in the hiring, training, terminating and assigning of field personnel
Monitors and addresses cost and labor performance of construction projects in conjunction with the Superintendent
Responsible for on-site project administration and reporting of labor, equipment and material (payroll administration, labor coding of time, equipment coding, material purchase orders coding) adhering to company standards as it relates to the foreman’s portion of the project
Leads weekly toolbox meetings Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints and specifications Assists with the preparation of execution plans, ITP’s, safe work plans, work assignments etc. Document and file paper work to office, included but not limited to time cards, hazard assessment, vehicle reports, tool box meetings.
