Raise is currently hiring an IT Business Decision Support Consultant Compliance System Support on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
Compliance System Support specialist plays a vital role in enabling, supporting, and maintaining our clients Mandatory Reliability Standards (MRS) enterprise solutions. Operating within a complex utility environment, this role serves as a key bridge between business compliance departments, the Reliability Standards Assurance team, and IT/Technology Specialists. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to end users, lead collaborative business improvement groups, analyze system impacts, and serve as an advocate for IT compliance systems to continually improve the user experience.
Responsibilities

System Support & Business Analysis

User Support: Provide high-quality ongoing support to end users for process and system-related inquiries, acting as the primary advocate for IT compliance systems and processes.

System Improvement: Develop, plan, and execute initiatives to continually improve the user experience within compliance databases and tools.

Impact Analysis: Prepare comprehensive documentation, system workflows, and system impact analyses to support technological updates and integrations.

Compliance Program Coordination

Subject Matter Expertise: Provide ’s Mandatory Reliability Standards (MRS) compliance subject matter expertise, program management, and coordination support.
- Liaison & Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the Reliability Standards Assurance team, Compliance teams, and the Compliance Program Office (CPO) regarding the MRS Enterprise solution and Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) audit inquiries.

Impact Assessment: Work closely with the Reliability Standards Assurance team, Compliance teams, and internal/external stakeholders to analyze MRS requirements and assess their impact across multiple compliance areas, specifically Operations & Planning (O&P) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards.
- Relationship Management: Act as a key bridging resource among various business departments and technology specialists, notifying management and stakeholders in real-time of important developments, potential compliance issues, and key risks.

Strategy & Collaboration

Fact-Based Decision Making: Inform the viability of MRS compliance strategy, active projects, and work programs using structured, impartial analysis, objective logic, and fact-based decision-making.

Facilitate Working Groups: Lead collaborative cross-functional working groups to build a collective understanding of standards, and support the implementation of business improvement opportunities across various compliance areas.
Qualifications
-
(5) years of progressive business analysis experience working in medium to large IT projects within a complex, highly regulated enterprise environment (or equivalent).

Work experience specifically related to compliance, NERC/WECC reliability standards (O&P and CIP), or the electric utility industry is highly preferred.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to distill complex technical/compliance concepts into clear, user-friendly language.

Excellent facilitation, coordination, and relationship-building skills with a track record of successfully leading collaborative working groups.

Strong logical and analytical skills, with a focus on data integrity, objective decision-making, and structural workflow improvements.

Education and Certifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and industry experience)

Certifications (Nice to Have): Professional business analysis certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or compliance/auditing certifications are considered an asset.
Additional Information
- Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
