Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Teacher to guide children through their learning journey in a hands-on, self-directed environment. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and respectful classroom that promotes independence, creativity, and collaboration while adhering to Montessori philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Environment & Instruction
- Prepare and maintain a well-organized, inviting Montessori classroom.
- Present Montessori lessons to individuals and small groups.
- Encourage self-directed learning by allowing children to explore materials at their own pace.
- Foster independence, responsibility, and self-discipline in students.
- Observe and assess each child’s progress, adjusting lessons accordingly.
2. Student Development & Support
- Guide students in their academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Promote a respectful and peaceful classroom through grace and courtesy lessons.
- Support students in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
- Encourage collaboration, creativity, and a love for learning.
3. Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain clear and open communication with parents about student progress.
- Provide guidance on Montessori principles to help parents support learning at home.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
4. Classroom & School Responsibilities
- Ensure all Montessori materials are clean, complete, and well-maintained.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, transitions, and outdoor play.
- Adhere to school policies and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Montessori Certification from a recognized training program (AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field (preferred).
- Experience teaching in a Montessori environment (preferred but not required).
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development.
- Excellent classroom management and observational skills.
- Passion for working with children in a nurturing and respectful manner.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
