Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage/Security Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing low voltage cabling infrastructure primarily in the residential new construction sector. With our available advancement opportunities and our real world training program you will also have the opportunity to apprentice with us to become a fully licensed Low Voltage/Security Technician.
Responsibilities:
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to run/install wiring and mount equipment according to project specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate system installation
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with construction teams to integrate systems seamlessly into building infrastructure
- Maintain detailed documentation of installations, inspections, and service reports
- Assist in system upgrades and preventative maintenance tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Great attitude and a superior work ethic
- Must hold a valid BC drivers license
- Must have a clean criminal record.
Preferred Requirements:
- Construction experience working on commercial or residential projects
- Experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical wiring in construction or security environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Familiarity with computer hardware, networking concepts, and telecommunication systems
- Electrical experience related to low voltage wiring and power distribution
- Knowledge of Security, CCTV, access control and audio-video systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues
- Experience with computer networking setup and maintenance
