COMMUNITY LIAISON COORDINATOR
As Community Liaison Coordinator you will take the lead in developing and hosting education information sessions to build community capacity and increase knowledge and understanding of intellectual disabilities. This maybe in-person or virtual as appropriate.
Reporting to the Executive Director you will be responsible for:
· Compiling a database of community groups and agencies.
· Researching existing structures and develop partnerships.
· Developing presentations for various audiences.
· Planning, organizing, and delivering information sessions to community groups and agencies.
· Reviewing our current membership program and assisting with updating and expansion as needed.
· Working closely with other staff to help identify supports and services for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
· Fostering Family and Sibling Networks.
· Working with the Growing the Future Committee (as required) to help regional representatives with community development activities.
· Maintaining and growing ICNL’s social media presence as needed.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to full inclusion for people with an intellectual disability or ASD, including the right to employment and economic participation in the community.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Social Services, Disability Studies, Education, Business) or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications and software. Aptitude for learning new online systems and tools.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector check required.
Job Specifics
· Position is 37.5 hours per week at $22.00 per hour
· Some travel may be required
