Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various cutting machinery, ensuring precise fabrication, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Duties
- Operate band saws and other cutting equipment to cut metal materials to specified lengths
- Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and cut lists
- Measure and mark materials accurately prior to cutting
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality cuts
- Load and unload materials safely using forklifts, cranes, or manual handling
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate with welders and shop supervisors regarding material requirements
- Follow all shop safety procedures and wear required PPE
Requirements
- Previous experience operating band saws or metal cutting equipment preferred
- Experience in a welding or metal fabrication shop is considered an asset
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares
- Basic ability to read fabrication drawings or cut lists
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
