We are recruiting on behalf of a growing manufacturing organization. They are seeking a Quality Control Technician to join their team on a contract basis.
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance while working in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
As a Quality Control Technician, you will support quality operations by performing inspections, testing, documentation, and monitoring manufacturing activities to ensure compliance with GMP and food safety requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Quality Testing
Perform quality testing on raw materials, packaging, in-process products, and finished goods
Conduct pH, Brix, moisture, water activity, weight, and label verification testing
Sample raw materials and finished products according to established procedures
Complete incoming material inspections before production
Support product release activities
Perform final product inspections prior to shipment
Maintain retain samples and quality records
Quality Assurance & Documentation
Identify and document non-conforming or out-of-specification products
Complete inspection reports and quality documentation accurately
Assist with investigations and corrective actions alongside production teams
Ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
GMP & Food Safety
Monitor production and warehouse areas for GMP compliance
Verify production documentation prior to manufacturing
Support sanitation, housekeeping, hygiene, and pest control programs
Equipment & Environmental Monitoring
Verify calibration and functionality of quality equipment including:
Scales
Thermometers
pH meters
Refractometers
Metal detectors
Perform ATP swabbing and sanitation verification
Support environmental monitoring and air/water quality programs
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field
Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety systems
Experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within a GMP manufacturing environment
Experience in food, pharmaceutical, natural health products, or other regulated manufacturing is considered an asset
Skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience with quality management software is an asset
Manufacturing environment
Standing and walking for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
PPE required
Exposure to production equipment, varying temperatures, and manufacturing noise
