Summary
Hockley Valley Resort is seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Attendant to join our housekeeping team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that guest rooms are clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked to meet the resort’s high standards. This role requires a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests, as well as a strong attention to detail and adherence to housekeeping policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests and respond promptly to their questions and concerns
- Change bed linens and make beds to standard
- Replace used towels and restock bathroom amenities (e.g., shampoo, soap)
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and carpets
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately
- Restock minibar beverages and snacks
- Clean and maintain public areas such as hallways and corridors
- Report maintenance and repair issues to the appropriate department
- Update room status on assignment sheets accurately
- Return and organize cleaning carts at the end of each shift
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous housekeeping and/or guest service experience an asset
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and products
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong time-management skills and attention to detail
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Physical stamina and mobility to perform required tasks
- Professional, honest, and polite demeanor
Working Conditions
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, crouching, and lifting involved
Pay: $18.22 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Mono, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
