Job Overview:
The successful candidate will report to the Controller and work closely with the administrative and operational leads. They will assist in the continued integration of Nutrasource’s financial functions into the North American division of SGS SA.
Accountant is responsible for regular and ad-hoc bookkeeping and accounting entries, administering payroll, payables/receivables support, assisting in cashflow management and maintaining statutory accounts for the business.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares bookkeeping and accounting entries, maintaining records of same, in accordance with regulation and policies.
- Key preparer and support for accurate, complete and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures.
- Administers Canadian and US payroll for the business, maintaining company accounts in good standing with relevant authorities and regulatory/statutory bodies.
- Manages employee expense processing and in a timely manner.
- Prepares sales/excise tax returns for the business.
- Maintains and renews state business licences.
- Provides key support in financial audits, 3rd party corporate tax preparation and internal control operations.
- Provides input in the development of budgets and forecasting.
- Helps to implement financial tool integrations and any new software implementation and training.
- Key business support including collections, payments, invoicing, cash management.
- Works with operational staff to minimize interruption of clinical trial management unit.
- Assist Controller and others in financial audits and internal control operations.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Controller.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting & bookkeeping experience.
- Experience in financial reporting and practical application of Canadian GAAP.
- Familiarity with IFRS is an asset.
- Experience in payroll administration.
- Experience in collections and cash management.
- Proficient in MS Office Excel.
- Well-versed in financial systems and ERPs.
- Experience with Deltek Vision and/or other project based ERPs is an asset.
- Experience with Oracle is an asset.
- Public accounting experience is an asset.
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
