Job Summary
The Visitor Experience Specialist is a seasonal, frontline tourism role focused on delivering mobile visitor services throughout the Cochrane region during the summer tourism season. Working as part of a two-person team, this position supports visitors at events, attractions, and high-traffic locations by providing tourism information, local recommendations, and a welcoming visitor experience. The role combines customer service, storytelling, event logistics, and tourism data collection in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and provide tourism information, maps, guides, and recommendations
- Share knowledge of local attractions, businesses, events, and hidden gems throughout the region
- Support mobile visitor services at festivals, markets, events, and high-traffic visitor locations
- Set up, transport, maintain, and tear down mobile visitor service equipment, including tents and signage
- Collect visitor statistics and tourism trend information using tracking logs
- Promote local businesses, restaurants, attractions, and experiences
- Work collaboratively with volunteers, community partners, and fellow staff members
- Represent the organization professionally while working independently in the field

- Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting
- Knowledge of the Cochrane area, local businesses, and attractions is considered an asset
- Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, retail, or customer service is preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn event setup, logistics, and mobile operations
Requirements
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment (Canada Summer Jobs eligibility requirement)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work outdoors for extended periods
