IT Project Controls Analyst for our client in Calgary, AB. This 12-month contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in project controls, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and IT project support.
In this role, you'll work closely with Project Managers, Finance, Procurement, and Technology teams to support a portfolio of strategic IT initiatives. You'll play a key role in project governance, financial planning, vendor coordination, and reporting, helping ensure projects remain on track, on budget, and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Forecasting
-
Support project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting activities

Perform variance analysis, accrual management, reconciliations, and budget monitoring
-
Maintain project financial records and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) information
-
Assist with project approvals, investment planning, and governance activities
-
Ensure project expenditures align with approved budgets and forecasts
Project Controls & Governance
-
Support project governance processes and project documentation requirements
-
Assist with project change requests, impact assessments, and schedule monitoring
-
Coordinate project reporting, status updates, and documentation management
-
Monitor project schedules and identify potential risks or variances
Resource & Vendor Administration
-
Support contractor onboarding and offboarding activities
-
Manage contractor administration, time-entry tracking, and resource allocations
-
Assist with vendor engagement, purchase orders, invoicing, and payment processing
-
Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, and Vendor Management teams to support project execution
Systems & Reporting
-
Maintain project records, forecasts, and cost plans within enterprise systems
-
Generate financial, resource, and portfolio reports using Excel and Power BI
-
Support SharePoint and Microsoft Teams administration and documentation management
-
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes, and operational efficiency
Qualifications and Skills:
-
8-10 years of experience in project controls, project administration, financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, or a related field

Experience supporting Information Technology projects and project portfolios

Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Knowledge of project governance, project controls, and project delivery methodologies

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Experience using Power BI for reporting and analysis

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
