Tapercraft Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced and reliable Painter to join our growing team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will perform high-quality residential and commercial painting work while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Paint interior and exterior walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and other surfaces.
- Protect furniture, floors, and fixtures before painting.
- Inspect completed work to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of professional painting experience.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing.
- Ability to use brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders and scaffolding.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are an asset.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
