Key Responsibilities
As the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, you will lead the organization's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis functions while providing strategic financial guidance that supports informed decision-making.
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process by partnering with department leaders to develop operating, capital, and revenue budgets.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting activities.
- Develop long-term financial plans that support strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.
Financial Analysis & Business Insights
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance reporting, profitability assessments, trend analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Develop financial models to evaluate business opportunities, capital investments, pricing strategies, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Provide scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and risk assessments that enable informed executive decision-making.
Reporting & Financial Performance
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure the organization is well-positioned to support ongoing operations and future growth.
- Deliver meaningful financial insights and recommendations.
Process Improvement & Governance
- Drive continuous improvements to financial planning processes, reporting systems, and analytical tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of best practices that strengthen financial reporting and planning capabilities across the organization.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Provide financial guidance and expertise to support strategic planning and organizational decision-making.
- Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused approach while promoting continuous improvement and accountability throughout the finance function.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:
Education & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is required.
- A Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Professional designation such as a CPA, CFA, or CMA is required.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, including leadership or management responsibilities.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP and financial planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
