JOB SUMMARY
As an Accountant at Bios Wellness Clinics, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a growing, multi-location healthcare organization. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, preparing accurate financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing meaningful financial insights that inform business decisions.
This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is motivated by continuous improvement. As Bios continues to grow through acquisitions, you will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, financial integration initiatives, and the development of scalable accounting practices that support long-term organizational success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process for multiple clinic locations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting working papers.
- Review financial records and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger transactions.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Manage and maintain accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage, or similar platforms) to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
- Leverage Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools to analyze financial data and support business decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes through automation and technology.
- Support the implementation and optimization of financial systems as the organization continues to grow.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Assist with preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections by analyzing historical performance and business trends
- Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
Operational Finance
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities as required.
- Assess the financial impact of new treatment offerings and projects on clinic profitability.
- Assist with financial due diligence and the integration of newly acquired clinics
Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, applicable tax legislation, and regulatory requirements
- Stay current on changes to accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements affecting the healthcare industry
- Coordinate with external auditors by providing required schedules and supporting documentation
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information
- Prepare GST/PST filings and support year-end tax preparation.
Collaboration
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial guidance and support business initiatives.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of accounting systems, reporting processes, and financial controls.
- Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA) is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably managing full-cycle accounting.
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Sage, or similar ERP/accounting systems.
- Experience supporting multiple entities, multi-location businesses, or organizations experiencing rapid growth is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while effectively managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
