Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team, responsible for transforming residential, commercial, and industrial spaces through expert painting and decorating techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, restoration, and various painting methods, with the ability to read schematics and blueprints. This role involves working with hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment to deliver high-quality finishes that meet client specifications. Excellent communication skills and time management are essential to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other hand or power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications.
- Perform residential, commercial, restoration, and industrial painting tasks across various environments.
- Use rigging techniques to safely access hard-to-reach areas or elevated surfaces.
- Execute carpentry tasks such as installing or repairing trim, moldings, or other decorative features as needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials according to safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project requirements are understood and met within scheduled timelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting, restoration work, or related fields.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and rigging equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong knowledge of residential, commercial, industrial painting techniques including caulking and surface preparation.
- Familiarity with schematics for industrial painting projects is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members.
- Good time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively across multiple projects.
- Experience in carpentry or related construction skills is desirable but not mandatory.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in various environmental conditions while adhering to safety protocols.
