Great, we are looking for a Prep/Scuff Sander and we want to hear from you! We are flexible if you are interested day or night shifts, with full time employment, hours ranging from 24 - 40 hours per week!
Position Overview
The Prep/Scuff Sander, uses and maintains sanding equipment, preparing raw parts for the Paint department while working efficiently and effectively to maintain production schedule flow and quality.
What You'll Do
- Use various equipment such as the Orbital Sander
- Sanding edges, cabinet panels, and other goods for the Paint Department
- Performs routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintains orderly work, storage areas and work area
- Ensures high quality control with an attention to detail
- Recognizes and addresses or reports any potential/detected safety, deterioration, repair needs and maintenance needs to Supervisor
- Functions independently, as assigned, or as part of a team in completing orders as necessary.
- Performs other duties as required
What You Bring
- Previous sanding experience preferred but not required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a woodworking environment, is preferred but not required
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment and above average attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and interact well with employees in all departments with good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to consistently produce quality product under pressure situations and changing deadlines
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Education
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent preferred
- Preference given to a Joinery Apprenticeship candidate
- Preference given to a candidate with cabinet manufacturing experience
