We are searching for a talented IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our growing team! Ascenti Software Corporation produces ALF Cloud, Canada's leading corporate records management software for law firms. We are looking for a friendly, bright, adaptable problem solver for our IT Team to maintain and optimize our environment and assist in providing IT support for related queries as needed.
For the right candidate this would be a mixed role supporting our cloud environment, along with support for our Windows desktop product. This is a great opportunity for an IT support professional looking to draw upon their experience to maintain and refine an existing environment. Our environment is friendly, casual, and a fully remote environment across Canada.
Position Overview:
- Full-time, permanent remote role with occasional after-hours/on-call support for incident response.
- Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain virtualized systems (AWS – preferred, Azure, GCP), and network components.
- Cloud & Network Operations: Manage AWS / cloud-connected environments, ensure high availability, and configure VPC network, routing, subnet segmentation, and firewall security.
- Virtual Desktops: Experience managing cloud-based virtual desktop infrastructure, specifically Amazon Workspaces.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve escalated 1st/2nd level IT support incidents, focusing on root cause analysis for infrastructure problems.
- Automation & Monitoring: Designing, implementing, and maintaining automation scripts (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation) for build, test, and deployment processes. Use monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring performance and uptime.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce data center security standards and patch Windows Server environment. Practical knowledge of industry standards and security frameworks, including SOC2 and ISO 27001.
- Projects & Documentation: Lead, plan, and execute IT infrastructure projects and maintain accurate, detailed documentation (JIRA / Confluence).
- Provide client support for our existing Windows desktop product.
Requirements:
- AWS Technical Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in designing and managing core AWS services, or equivalent proficiency in Azure or GCP, including: EC2, ECS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route53, WAF, API Gateway, S3, RDS, SNS, SES, and CloudWatch.
- CI/CD & Automation: Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment processes.
- Containerization: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for orchestrating and managing containerized applications.
- Systems Administration: Strong background in Linux and Windows administration, covering device management, patching, and ongoing operational support.
- Scripting: Proficient in automation via scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex, unpredictable issues without constant supervision.
- Understanding and familiarity with SQL
- Exceptional listening, communication, and organizational skills
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Jira suite products, Azure Code Signing, GIT or other version control systems
- Familiarity with ALF Corporate software
Education & Experience:
- Associate Degree in Computer Information or Systems Technology, or equivalent IT certification
- Minimum 2-4 years related work experience
- Demonstrable experience with troubleshooting technical issues
